Foam panels do nothing for soundproofing a room. Foam panels are for absorbing high frequency A Man Cannot Survive On Bourbon Alone He Also Needs A Cat Vintage Shirt (and not well that well considering the depth people generally use for aesthetics). Would help dampen the echoes if the bleed through the wall is reverberating high in frequency, but they do nothing for bass. Wavelength is far too large with too much energy.
There is no quick / unobtrusive method for soundproofing. Would need to isolate the room from the other room via tearing down the drywall and adding insulation and/or use MLV on the first drywall, add insulation, and then cover with more drywall. Generally the larger the pocket and the more mass added, the more the sound will be damped. This would not matter much though if the sound is going through the ceiling and the floor and possibly the side walls. If so, then you’d effectively need to build a room within a room or build a room out of concrete.
